Our Foundation Charter

Our Covenant with You, Your Family, and the Seven Generations to Come.

This is not a marketing document. This is the source code for our integrity. It is the foundation upon which Storysmith is built—the non-negotiable principles that shape how we serve, what we build, and why we believe this work matters.

E Ku Tikanga, E Ku Mana

To my principles, to my authority

I, the founder, stand as Tangata Moana—Samoan and New Zealand European—carrying the wisdom of both worlds. My work honours my tūpuna (ancestors), serves my whānau (family), and considers the mokopuna (descendants) seven generations ahead. Storysmith is built from this place of mana (dignity) and hau (life force), ensuring that what we create enhances the collective.

Our Foundation: Three Core Values

1. Dignity in the Design (Vā - The Sacred Space)

"We tend the sacred space where trust and insight can flourish."

A story is a space of vulnerability and connection. We are the guardians of that space, ensuring every interaction is designed to protect the mana (dignity) of the storyteller. Your trust is our most precious currency.

2. Empowerment in the Process (Utu Tūturu - Reciprocity)

"We build to give back more than we take."

Our technology exists to empower, not to extract. We measure our success by the capability we build in others. This is a partnership where your investment of time and vulnerability is met with our deepest commitment to honouring your story.

3. Sovereignty in the Story (Mana Motuhake - Your Data)

"Your story is yours. Completely. Forever."

The data generated in a conversation is a sacred story belonging to you. You are the sole owner. You have the right to delete your data at any time, permanently and without question. Your stories will never be sold, shared, or used for AI training. Ever.

Our Sacred Boundaries

What We NEVER Do:

  • Sell or share your personal stories.
  • Use your data for AI training.
  • Create "AI clones" or simulate a person after they're gone.
  • Build solutions that exploit vulnerability or create dependency.
  • Prioritise profit over the wellbeing and dignity of people.

What We ALWAYS Do:

  • Start with empathy and deep listening.
  • Protect your privacy and sovereignty as fundamental rights.
  • Honour cultural protocols and dignity in every interaction.
  • Build for seven generations, not two quarters.
  • Build relationships based on trust, reciprocity, and transparency.

Our Promise

"We promise to tend the vā (the sacred space), maintain utu tūturu (reciprocity), and uphold mana motuhake (your sovereignty). This is our covenant with you, your communities, and the seven generations to come."

He waka eke noa

(We are all in this canoe together)
